US, UK threaten federal government over sanctions

The United States and the United Kingdom have issued a statement threatening the outgoing Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) with sanctions if they do not back down.

They suggested not to back down on the discussion page based on the September 17, 2020 agreement, which the Federal and State Governments have been meeting for a long time on how to implement the country’s elections.

Britain has proposed that the federal authorities and the regional states is essential to stability, to uphold the Constitution and work process.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has made it clear that his government will have to reconsider Washington’s support for Somalia because of a “bad path”.

The outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has last night signed into law a special orientation on the election into the House of Representatives vote to remove the 17th September 2020 agreement.
