UN: “Somalia is deeply concerned about clashes occurring in Mogadishu”.

The United Nations mission in Somalia expressed concern on the Renewed conflict in Mogadishu, and called for a resolution to the current crisis.

To solve the political dispute over the elections,The United Nations has called on the warring parties to find a non-violent solution so that they can at least come to the negotiating table to reach an agreement .

“The United Nations is deeply concerned about the recent clashes in Mogadishu.Violence is not as solution to the current political stalemate and calls on all parties to remain calm and resolve their differences amicably,”said UNSOM in a tweet

The statement from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) added: “Violence is not the answer to the current political stalemate. We urgently call on all parties to the negotiating table.”

The United Nations has previously warned that the controversy over the failure of Somalia’s elections & the FGS Parliament’s decision on 12 April 2021 to suspend the agreement of 17 September 2020 & the Baidhabo Accord of February 2021.
