Hijaar fires Banadir Regional Police Commander.

Somali Police Commissioner Gen. Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar fired the Banadir Regional Police Commander Gen. Sadaq Omar Hassan (John) .

This dismissal comes hours after Sadaq Omar told the media that Benadir regional police have stopped the parliamentary session to discuss the national elections with what is rumoured as plan to extend the term for the outgoing Federal government

“We as the Benadir regional police are mandated to stop anything that will promote insecurity in this country particularly in our region. Today’s session seems to bring more harm than good. Therefore, we have suspended the today’s parliament session,” Sadaq Omar said.

A statement from the Commissioner’s office said that Sadaq John was replaced by the Farhan Mohamed Aden (Farhan Qaroole) who was previously the commander of the Harma’ad special forces, a police unit. This announcement sees him promoted to the rank of Colonel.

Sadaq in a six minutes videos discussed a wide range of issues including the electoral impasse in the country, and the action to block lawmakers from extending the term of government institutions that have expired.
