How is the situation in Mogadishu?

Clashes between the government forces and the Union of Candidates’ union backed by the military erupted in Mogadishu few hours ago but the situation has now calmed down

Some families in the affected areas have been displaced as the fight resulted to deaths and injuries on both sides.According to sources , negotiations are underway to defuse the conflict.

For their safety ,the troops have built barricades in the middle of the tarmac and neighborhoods in Mogadishu to protect themselves from bullets coming from the other side, and are preventing civilians from approaching the area.

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble called for talks to end the violent crisis, and expressed hope for ongoing efforts that have led to a ceasefire between the two sides.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the former president of Somalia together with Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame said that their house were attacked by government forces in a Turkish armored vehicle.
