Omar Filish put  land grabbers on notice , says every inch of government land will be reclaimed.

The governor of Benadir region who doubles as the mayor of Mogadishu Omar Mohamud Mohamed popularly know as Omar Filish said has put land grabbers on stern warning.

Omar Filish said that the government is determined to reclaim “even an inch ” of government land while appreciating the regional administration faces many challenges in reclaiming government lands.

The mayor of Mogadishu who spoke to the media said that in recent days there have been false reports that government lands are being used for private gain but he said that the administration will never allow any construction or private use any public land.

“I want to make it clear to you that the Benadir regional administration and the current government will not allow one meter of government land to be taken away for private use or allocation , ”said Omar Mohamud Mohamed – Omar Filish.

The mayor was speaking on the occasion of unveiled the Biyasa  square in Hamar Jajab district, which is being rebuilt by the Mogadishu municipality for parking for trucks to ease traffic congestion in the capital.

Biyasa Libaro Square, a commercial area, has not been repaired for nearly 30 years, and the mayor of Mogadishu recently ordered the reconstruction and maintenance of the site to serve the community.
