Situation stabilizes in Ade Adeye ,Sool Region after deadly clashes

The situation in Ade Adeye District in Sool Region, Northeastern State of Somalia has stabilized after fighting there reportedly resulted in the deaths of more than 20 people and left dozens others injured

Residents of the district are still discussing the clashes, which led to heavy casualties, with some of the victims reportedly buried after the fighting that took place in Ari-Caddeeye, under Puntland’s administration in Sool.

The attack on Ade Adeye, which reportedly caused widespread fatalities and injuries, has been reported to have been part of a series of killings that occurred across Sool, according to various sources. Those killed included women, elderly people, and children.

Security officials in the Region are said to have held meetings regarding the incident, although no statement has yet been released to the media about the decisions made or the steps the administration is taking in response.

District elders in Ade Adeye are also reportedly working to prevent similar violence, like the clashes that happened on the previous day and resulted in the deaths and injuries of many people, with efforts underway to find solutions as the situation remains unresolved.

Local leaders and elders have urged residents to prioritize peaceful coexistence and reconciliation, calling on communities to refrain from revenge and hate.

They emphasized the need for dialogue, restraint, and cooperation with security authorities to prevent further escalation, while also supporting efforts to protect civilians and ensure that grievances are addressed through lawful and peaceful means.
