Somali Ambassador to Türkiye Meets New Arab League representative in Ankara

Somalia’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Fathudin Ospite, has held a courtesy meeting with Dr. Malik Mousli, the newly appointed representative of the Arab League, in Ankara.

The meeting focused on strengthening “coordination between Somalia and the Arab League and exploring ways to deepen engagement with the Cairo-based regional organisation” .

During the meeting, Ambassador Ospite congratulated Dr. Mousli on his new appointment and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure.

The Somali envoy also reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining close consultations and strengthening cooperation with the Arab League on issues of mutual interest.

The engagement underscores Somalia’s continued efforts to enhance its diplomatic relations with regional organisations and strengthen coordination on political, economic and other areas of shared interest.

Somalia maintains longstanding relations with the Arab League and has consistently sought to deepen cooperation with member states and regional institutions on matters affecting the Horn of Africa and the wider Arab world.

The meeting in Ankara is expected to contribute to closer diplomatic coordination between Somalia and the Arab League as both sides work to advance their shared interests.
