Former NISA boss Fahad Yaasiin elected to Parliament in lower House seat in Beledweyne.

Former National Intelligence Service (NISA) director and current security advisor to outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo security  has won the HOP # 086 Lower house seat election in Beledweyne, the second largest constituency in Hirshabelle region.

The seat won by Fahad Yassin was occupied in the 10th Parliament by Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir who chose not to defend his seat.

Fahad who following the win, will be a member of Parliament is facing accusations of involvement in the assassination of Ikraan Tahlil, a former National Intelligence Service (NISA) , according to relatives of Ikraan.

He arrived in Beledweyne on the 19th of this month to present himself for seat.

Fahad Yaasiin has added a new name in submitting his details for the election bring Fahad Dahir Ahmed. It is understood that the reason is he would like to use as many names to confuse his accusers as he is facing various allegations of human rights violations.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble has tried to block the election of Fahad Yassin, after some members of the Federal and State Electoral Commissions opposed him.

Fahad Yassin joins officials who won the 11th Parliamentary Election including his NISA colleagues such as Yassin Farey, who is acting NISA Commander and Kulane Jiis who are among officials accused by Ikraan relatives of killing their daughter, a NISA officer
