Federal Electoral Commission Says hackers have taken over their Social media accounts.

The Federal Electoral Commission  said that thier media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and the website have been taken over and not in their control as the information shared in those sites are fake, saying  all the contents shared  was null and void until they take over its control

A letter from the Commission read: “I would like to inform all those who are interested in the elections in the country and the Somali people in general that all the NEC sites such as websites, Twitter and Facebook have been taken over to disrupt the country’s elections. ”

The commission’s letter added: “We are now making it clear that any remittances are void.”

Finally the Commission said that they will submit the results in press conferences, interviews & so on According to a statement from the Federal Electoral Commission.

It is the second time hackers have taken control of the digital presence of FEIT. The committee following the removal of former FEIT Chairman Mohamed Cirro.

The communication failures facing the electoral body might compound election delays resulting from contentious parliamentary seats as  the election deadline draw closer
