Elections of 5 seats in the lower house of the People to take place at Kismayo today.

The Jubbaland state election commission is expected to held elections of the lower house in Kismayo today, the capital of the lower Jubba region.

Yesterday, about 10 candidates who will be competing for the 5 seats were awarded Certificates of Candidacy, and the seats for today’s election are as follows:

1: HOP # 136 was formerly occupied by the late Mohamed Abdi Gandi, and will be contested today by Omar Yusuf Qaladiid and Abdifatah Omar Maalim.

2: HOP # 130 formerly occupied by Mohamed Diriye Khalif, and will be contested by Mowlid Abdi Mohamud And Habon Hassan Tiifoow

3: HOP # 112 currently occupied by Abdi Aziz Abdullahi Mohamed Hukun is contested by Abdikadir Mohamed Waaysio and Daud Osman Ali.

4: HOP # 079 currently occupied by Farhiya Hassan Ahmed, but will be contested by men, Mohamud Muhumed Omar (Kulow) and Bashir Nur Hussein.

5: Hop # 072, which has been which has been occupied in the past years by Abdirashid Mohamed Hidig for the past years, will be contested by Abdirashid Hidig and Abdisamad Mohamed Abdullahi.

The Jubbaland administration is the only administration that has not yet announced the seats in the second election after a dispute between the administration and Villa Somalia, but they will soon finalize the seats in Kismayo.
