Ukrainian President confirms 60 killed in Russian bombing of a school in Lahansk, says it was time to hold Russia accountable.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned a Russian airstrike on a school in Lahansk province that housed 90 civilians.

Zelensky pointed out that 60 of those people had died in the aftermath of the Russian bombardment of Lahansk.

He said it was time to hold Russia accountable for its atrocities in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensk, who holds a 24-hour press conference.

Heavy fighting has broken out in Lahansk province, which is besieged by Ukrainian troops and civilians who have not been unable to leave and are being targeted by Russian forces.

The UN project to evacuate civilians trapped in Ukraine has not yet arrived in Lahansk, but Kyiv government officials say it is making a loud appeal to the United Nations.
