The Somaliland military court has today sentenced to death a Somaliland soldier who recently killed a female employee of the Somaliland Ministry of Agriculture.
Convicted soldier Salah Bullale Jama shot and killed Najma Abdullahi Maykal, a young woman in the Ministry of Agriculture, near the Hargeisa City Court in the middle of the night.
Prosecutors have demanded the death sentence for Salah Bulale, as he deliberately opened fire on the late Najma Abdullahi, who she was reportedly preparing for, ahead of her wedding.
Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, has been the scene of occasional killings, although such incidents are rare in the city, and Somaliland courts have sentenced soldiers who commits such acts to death.
