Somali Regional State of Ethiopia supplies Hiiraan region food and non food items in aid of the war against Al-Shabaab.

The Somali regional state has supplied food and non food items such as , medical supplies , military transport and other materials to Somalia’s Hiran, Hir-Shabeelle.

This is in support of the ongoing war against Al-Shabaab in many parts under the Hirshabeelle region.

Officials from the region who spoke said that they intend to support Hiiraan in order to achieve victory in the war that is going on in the districts of the region.

At the donation handing over event, held in Feer-Feer District, the officials of the two regions who spoke at the event pointed out the importance of standing together and unity in the fight against Al-Shabaab .

Aden Mohamed Sooyan, the governor of the Shabelle region of the Somali state government, said that they stand by their counterparts in Hiran, even if they need to fight directly, they will play their part.

“The support we are showing to the community in the operation and the administration of Hiran region, this assistance includes military assistance, supplies, transport and medicine, and if it is necessary , we will fight alongside our brothers and sisters to defeat the enemy. “said Shabelle Regional Governor of Somali Regional state .

Ali Jeyte Osman, the Governor of Hiraan Region who spoke at the forum, thanked the Shabelle Administration, describing this assistance as timely coming when they needed it most

“We have been given military supplies and equipment. We are grateful to the Shabelle administration of the Somali Regional Government for their support . This assistance is not the first and the last,” Ali Jeyte Osman, Governor of Hiran Region.

The Somali Regional state is engaged in a war with Al-Shabaab after the group crossed the border shared by the Regional Government with the Bakool Regions in South West state.
