National Consultative Assembly Conference of Federal Heads of State and federal Government opens today in Mogadishu.

The meeting between the Federal government and federal member State leaders is set to open in Mogadishu on Sunday, at the Afisiyoni tent Center, where such meetings are held.

The meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Rooble will discuss the implementation and the progress of the agreement reached by the leaders on May 27 on how the election is to take place.

During the meeting, the leadership will consider security issues in the elections and the preparation of the elections and the Conference will be participated by the election commissions appointed recently.

Jubbaland regional leaders Ahmed Madoobe, South West’s Abdiaziz Laftagareen, Puntland’s Said Deni and Galmudug Ahmed Qoorqoor and Banadir Regional Governor are already in the capital Mogadishu to attend the Conference.

Meanwhile, Hirshabeelle Administration has completely boycotted the participation of the election conference talks. A statement from the Presidency of the region said that the conveners of meeting have not made any consultation with them and the outcome is therefore not binding to that administration.

Ali Abdullahi Hussein Guudlaawe, the president of HirShabelle is out of the country on a trip to Turkey and it is noteworthy that Hirshabelle said they are ready to implement the September 17 and May 27, 2021 agreements but are not part of the Opening Conference today.
