Fresh clashes between Somaliland and SSC forces erupt in Yayle, ​​Sool region

Heavy clashes between the Somaliland forces and SSC Khatumo local forces is reported this morning in Bisiqa of Yeyle District of ​​Sool region.

The current clashes is reported to be very tense although there is still no exact information about the areas where the conflicts is taking place and the extent of the losses so far on both sides.

The forces of Somaliland and SSC Khatumo have recently faced each other in the areas of Buqdharkayn and Yayle where there have been previous battles between the two sides.

According to reports local fighters identified as SSB forces are part of the ongoing conflicts and are said to be supporting the Somaliland forces in the area.

SSC Khatumo forces recently set fire to the village of Buqdharkayn, after they said that local people from the area of ​​Buqdharkayn killed villagers, who live east of the village.

After the burning of Buqdharkayn locla SSC Khatumo leaders called for peace, while some of the Somaliland leaders refused to accept peace.

The armed conflict between the Somaliland National Army and the SSC-Khatumo forces have previously led to the killings of hundreds of people and the displacement of several others.
