Tragic Landmine Blast Kills Six Passengers in Lower Shabelle, Investigation Launched

An explosion occurred in Lower Shabelle, resulting in death of six people and injury of over ten.

A car ferrying passengers was hit by what is believed to be a landmine, causing deaths and injuries.

Six people died on the spot and more than 10 people were injured when a car carrying these people was hit by an explosion that was believed to be a landmine that hit the car.

The incident took place on the road between Marka and Qoryoley.

Authorities from Federal security agencies and the South West Regional Government are investigating the explosion.

The car, confirmed by multiple sources, departed from Marka and was en route to Qoryoley.

Lower Shabelle’s governor, Mohamed Ibrahim Barre, mentioned significant losses and aid being provided to the injured.

Various sources told Mustaqbal that Some of the wounded were transported to Mogadishu for additional medical attention due to the mine explosion.
