After a few days ago in the town of Eerigabo, the capital of Sanaag region, there were violent anti government demonstrations prompting the government to impose a curfew in the town , starting at 8:00 pm in the evening.
The curfew which takes effect on Friday had caught the people by surprise.
The curfew came after violent demonstrations took place in Eerigabo by some of the local residents who were angry about a man who had been allegedly shot by the Somaliland Police Force.
The protests that took place resulted in many casualties and protestor were pelting stones at the police forces.
Somaliland called on the people of Eerigabo to calm down the situation and find a solution to the incident.
