KAAH Party dismisses Cirro’s Gaza troop Proposal as a “dream”

Somalia’s KAAH opposition party has dismissed remarks by Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Cirro” that the administration plans to send 2,000 troops to Gaza, describing the proposal as unrealistic.

The KAAH party spokesperson criticised Cirro’s remarks and accused his administration of pursuing what he described as a misguided political approach toward Israel.

The spokesperson also questioned where the proposed 2,000 troops would come from, citing what he said were existing security and political challenges facing the administration, including prisoners held by the North Eastern State administration.

He warned against what he described as misleading the public with claims about sending troops to Gaza and urged the public to treat the proposal with caution.

KAAH has recently intensified its criticism of Cirro’s administration over its growing engagement with Israel. The opposition party has warned that the administration’s approach toward Israel could have political consequences and urged it to reconsider what the party described as an unproductive path.

Cirro’s reported proposal to deploy troops to Gaza has not been accompanied by publicly detailed information on the number of forces, their mandate, financing or the mechanism through which such a deployment would take place.
