Somalia : Meetings to organise peaceful dialogue between Puntland and Federal Government kicks off

Meetings have started to generate efforts to achieve a direct dialogue and bring a peaceful solution to be achieved through negotiation and cooperation between the Heads of the Federal Government and the Puntland Regional Government to overcome the political differences that was existing.

According to close confidant sources to the ongoing meetings, members of the Galmudug and South West regional governments are focusing on finding a strategic area where they can talk to bring together the federal leaders and the Puntland administration to reach a long lasting solution.

The reports add that President of the South West Regional Government, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, spoke with his Puntland counterpart Said Abdullahi Deni in order to make the ongoing efforts fruitful and find a solution to the political differences.

Puntland President Saïd Abdullahi Deni has recently reaffirmed the region’s readiness to engage in open and transparent dialogue aimed at resolving ongoing political disputes with Somalia’s federal government. Deni emphasized the importance of addressing current challenges for the future of Somalia’s unity and stability.

Despite the differences in opinion, the federal government of Somalia have several times indicated it’s committed to talking with the Puntland authorities, and said that the cooperation are necessary to achieve our national goal as a country.
