Somalia Auditor General participates in AFROSAI-E Summit in Liberia.

Somalia’s Auditor General Ahmed Issa Gutale and his delegation participated in the 22nd AFROSAI-E Summit held in Monrovia, Liberia, joining audit officials and public accountability institutions from across the continent.

The summit focused on “improving audit quality and strengthening institutional capacity through the use of modern auditing tools and approaches” . Delegates discussed key issues including data analytics, public debt auditing, transparency, accountability, and long-term fiscal sustainability.

Somalia’s participation highlighted the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public financial oversight and enhance cooperation with regional and international audit institutions.

Officials said engagement at the summit provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and adopt modern auditing practices aimed at improving governance and financial management.

The gathering also emphasized the role of supreme audit institutions in promoting accountability and supporting effective public sector management across African countries.
