Somali Prime Minister Hamza to travel to Dhusamareb for Heritage Institute conference Closing.

Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, is expected to travel to Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug State, to attend the closing session of the annual Heritage Institute conference currently underway in the city.

The three-day conference, organized by the Heritage Institute for Policy Studies, has brought together senior federal and state government officials, former national leaders, civil society representatives, and invited guests from various sectors to deliberate on Somalia’s state-building process and long-term political trajectory.

This year’s discussions have focused on “governance reforms, national cohesion, and strategies for preparing Somalia for a more stable and prosperous future” . Key policy ideas and recommendations are expected to be compiled into a final communiqué at the conclusion of the forum.

Prime Minister Hamza is scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the closing ceremony, in which he is expected to speak on the country’s overall political and security situation, with particular emphasis on safeguarding national unity and social cohesion at a critical moment for Somalia.

Organizers say the conference will conclude “with a set of calls and messages directed at both the federal government and the Somali public, aimed at reinforcing inclusive dialogue and consensus-building as the country moves forward”.
