President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud says the root cause of the nation’s long-standing challenge is politics and we will fix it.

The President of the Federal government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has emphasized the government’s focus on political reform, which he identified as the root cause of the nation’s long-standing challenges.

Speaking on Somalia’s progress, the president highlighted that after 54 years, the country is steadily moving toward one-person-one-vote elections, an important milestone in Somalia’s democratic journey.

“Somalis have suffered because of politics. We will fix our governance and politics. We are close to achieving our goals. Soon, we will live like the rest of the world, enjoying peace and stability. Compared to other nations that have not experienced civil wars or collapse, we will emerge stronger,” said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

On security, the president addressed the ongoing fight against Al-Shabaab fighters, reaffirming the government’s commitment to reclaiming the remaining territories under the group’s control.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud stressed that the government is intensifying its efforts to ensure stability and peace across the nation.

Leaders indicated that the president’s remarks signal a renewed commitment to reform, unity, and the vision of a peaceful and democratic Somalia.
