The President of the federal Government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reportedly departed on an unannounced trip to Kenya, according to close confidant sources.

The President is expected to hold meetings in the country with Kenyan top officials and international representatives closely monitoring the political situation in Somalia.

Sources from diplomatic circles indicate that the visit is focused on security matters ,Somalia’s internal political dynamics and the broader regional situation, particularly as political activity continues to intensify.

In Nairobi, he is expected to meet senior officials from the Kenyan government and representatives from international bodies. However, the agenda of the talks has not been officially disclosed

The visit comes at a time when Somalia’s opposition has called for prompt direct elections, urging the establishment of an electoral process that all political sides can accept.

Discussions regarding the type of election and the political system in the country have been growing more intense in recent weeks, with both the federal government and the opposition presenting differing views on Somalia’s electoral future.

So far, Villa Somalia has not issued an official statement confirming the trip or outlining its stated objectives. Still, the unannounced visit is taking place amid a sensitive political climate and mounting debate surrounding elections.
