President Guudlaawe Highlights Security and Development Priorities in Hir-Shabelle’s 8th Anniversary Speech

Ali Abdullahi Hussein, the President of Hir-Shabelle State, emphasized key areas of focus for his administration, including security, justice, social welfare, decentralization, and the economy, during a speech marking the 8th anniversary of the state’s establishment.

In his address, President Guudlaawe acknowledged the founders of Hir-Shabelle State, praising their determination in overcoming challenges and achieving the current visible progress. He expressed gratitude for their efforts in establishing the administration despite the obstacles.

The President of Hirshabelle State emphasized that his government has concentrated on three critical areas: security, justice, and social affairs. In particular, he highlighted the ongoing military operations against Al-Shabaab militants, noting that several territories have been liberated from the group. “We have focused on security, justice, social affairs, decentralization, and the economy,” Guudlaawe said.

President Guudlaawe also discussed ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at improving flood control and building water reservoirs. These projects, he noted, are essential in preventing the devastating effects of flooding along the Shabelle River, which has historically caused widespread damage in the region.

The president’s speech underscored the administration’s commitment to improving security and governance in Hir-Shabelle, as well as enhancing the livelihoods of the people through economic and social development projects.
