NISA operation in Mogadishu leaves one Al-Shabaab suspect dead, another wounded

Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said its forces carried out a targeted operation on Saturday night against two suspected Al-Shabaab operatives in the Galmudug neighborhood of Garasbaaley district on the outskirts of Mogadishu.

According to state media, the intelligence-led operation resulted in the death of one suspected militant, while another was wounded.

Officers involved in the operation said it was executed as planned, describing it as a successful mission targeting individuals believed to be linked to the militant group.

NISA has not released the identities of the suspects or provided additional details regarding the operation.

The latest raid forms part of ongoing intelligence and security operations targeting Al-Shabaab cells in Mogadishu and surrounding areas as Somali authorities continue efforts to strengthen security and disrupt militant activities.
