The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Special Forces successfully intercepted a vehicle laden with explosives on the outskirts of Elasha-Biyaha, near Mogadishu.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday evening when vigilant NISA operatives detected the suspicious vehicle.
Upon discovery, the driver of the vehicle attempted to escape, but NISA Special Forces engaged in pursuit, leading to a tense standoff.
The driver of the vehicle was shot and killed during the confrontation.
“National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Special Forces intercepted a vehicle carrying explosives near Elasha-Biyaha outskirts of Mogadishu on Wednesday evening. The driver attempted to flee but was shot and killed by the forces”, NISA said in a brief Twitter post which displayed photos of explosives.
The successful operation is part of an ongoing efforts by security forces to counteract potential threats and maintain the safety of the populace.
