Somalia’s Federal Government Minister of the Interior, Ali Yussuf Hosh, has denied circulating rumours on social media claiming that he would resign from his position.
In a statement released by the minister, he said the reports were baseless, unfounded and intended to mislead and confuse the public.
“I am carrying out my national duties, serving my people. These resignation claims are false stories spread by individuals pretending to be journalists,” said Minister Ali Hosh.
“I urge the public to rely on accurate information from official sources such as my verified social media account and the Federal Government’s official institutions.”he added
The minister’s remarks come after hours of online speculation that he was planning to step down.
