Fighting intensifies in Lower Jubba as Kenyan Forces clash with Al-Shabaab Fighters

Close confidant reports from the Lower Jubba region, particularly in the Hoosingow area, indicate that fighting has erupted between Kenyan forces, part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), and Al-Shabaab fighters.

The clashes reportedly occurred near a base where Kenyan troops are stationed, after Al-Shabaab reportedly launched an attack. During the fighting, airstrikes were conducted by Kenyan aircraft, adding intensity to the conflict.

Shortly after the clash Kenyan forces began operations in nearby areas to track down Al-Shabaab members involved in the attack. However, details regarding casualties on both sides remain unclear at this time.

In the Lower Jubba region, military movements against Al-Shabaab are reportedly ongoing. The Jubbaland state forces and Kenyan troops are collaborating in their efforts, even as they face counterattacks from Al-Shabaab fighters.

This situation continues to develop, and further updates are expected from the security agencies to confirm casualties and the situation of the area.
