Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister Opens Key Conference in Cairo on Sustainable Solutions

Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister, Abdisalam Abd Cali (Dhaay), officially inaugurated a major conference today , Friday in Cairo, Egypt.

The event reportedly focuses on promoting sustainable solutions to Somalia’s development challenges, with particular emphasis on funding urban development initiatives.

In his opening address, Deputy Prime Minister Abdisalam Abdi highlighted the importance of the project in bolstering housing solutions for internally displaced people in Somalia.

Abdi also indicated that the conference also provide a forum to discuss ways of offering both financial and technical support to help displaced communities overcome difficult living conditions.

The gathering brought together experts, international organizations, and academics, who collectively explored opportunities for partnership to address Somalia’s need for sustainable solutions.

The discussions centered on strategies for tackling the issues faced by displaced persons and enhancing urban infrastructure across the federal government of Somalia.

This conference comes at a time when new waves of displaced persons have been arriving in Mogadishu, particularly in camps on the outskirts of the capital.
