Somalia’s Military and Legislative Leaders Coordinate to Speed Up Al-Shabaab Offensive in Galgaduud

In a bid to intensify the fight against Al-Shabaab, a delegation of Somali MPs and National Army officers, led by MP Yasin Farey and Deputy Infantry Commander Gen. Abdullahi Cirro, has commenced a series of meetings in Eeldheer District, Galgaduud Region.
This initiative aims to expedite military operations and enhance coordination in the ongoing conflict against the extremist group.

The delegation’s primary goal is to discuss strategies for speeding up the operations in Eeldheer, a key battleground in the Galmudug State Government’s efforts to combat Al-Shabaab. Their focus is on ensuring that troops can access and secure villages still under the control of the insurgents.

MP Yasin Farey emphasized the critical responsibility of accelerating these operations and supporting the forces involved. He highlighted the importance of motivating and coordinating with the collaborating troops to strengthen the overall campaign against Al-Shabaab.

The visit includes inspections of Federal Government Army Camps and local military units, known as Mawiisle. The delegation’s efforts are aimed at improving operational efficiency and reinforcing the support for ongoing military activities in the region.

This Somali government is intensifying its fight against terrorism and ensuring greater stability in the affected areas.
