The Somali armed forces were carrying out a security operation when they clashed with some armed group in Karan area, Banadir Region. The armed group were reportedly robbing the civilians causing unrest in the town.
The Somali armed forces succeeded in arresting some members of the group who were equipped with knives and other dangerous weapons robbing the civilians. The confrontation and the fight in Karan left deputy police chief ,Daud Dalmar slightly injured.
Karan District in Banadir Region has recently witnessed an increase in the number of gangs robbing people of their mobile phones and other valuable items.
Residents in the area raised their concerns of the group of youth equipped with dangerous weapons looting the people and creating fear,unrest and tension in the town.
