Somalia: The Registration of the candidates for the country’s top job (presidency) commences today in the capital.

The Joint Committee for the Presidential Election of Somalia, which has been selected by members of both houses of the Somali Parliament, will begin the registration and collection of candidates for the presidency of Somalia in Mogadishu today.

The 17-member committee set up a registration center at the Upper House, yesterday announcing the requirements for the Somali presidential candidate, including the signatures of 20 members of parliament to qualify to vie candidacy President.

The registration of the presidential candidates will continue until the 10th of this month, and it is noteworthy that some of the presidential candidates have traveled to abroad such as Turkey and the United Arab Emirates but are expected to return to Mogadishu soonest.

The 15th of this month which is also the Somali Youth Day of the SYL fighters, is scheduled to take place in the Somali presidential election, and the candidates are currently campaigning in Mogadishu.
