Somalia: SoDMA Dispatches Emergency Aid to Ceel Cali Ahmed and Alkowsar areas, Middle Shabelle Region.

The Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has dispatched an aid convoy consisting of 11 trucks carrying humanitarian supplies from Mogadishu to Ceel Cali Axmed and Alkowsar in the Middle Shabelle region.

The relief supplies include food, medicine, tents, and other essential items, intended to support approximately 15,000 families displaced by recent conflicts in the area.

The Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mohamuud Moallim, stated that this aid delivery is part of a broader humanitarian effort to assist communities affected by the tough military operations against Al-Shabaab fighters.

“This aid convoy is a direct response to an urgent request from Hirshabelle authorities to provide emergency assistance to those displaced by the recent fighting in Ceel Cali Axmed and Alkowsar. We are also planning similar aid deliveries to other areas affected by ongoing military operations against Al-Shabaab, such as Hiiraan and Bari,” said the commissioner.

He further emphasized the Somali Federal Government’s commitment to assisting its citizens, particularly those living in conflict-affected regions where military efforts are underway to liberate the country from Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

The National Disaster Management Agency indicated it will continues its commitment to providing aid and dispatch additional assistance to the needy people and swiftly respond to emergencies.
