Somalia: Puntland Security committee bans illegal firearms in Qardho

A special meeting was held in the city of Qardho by the Security Committee of the Karkar region of Puntland, where they discussed security and development issues,the meeting was chaired by the Governor of the Karkar region, Abdi Saeed Osman.

The meeting focused on the ongoing development works, the preparation for the registration of voters in Karkar Region districts which will start soon, and the insecurity that might be caused  by carrying of illegal weapons in the city was also discussed and statement issued.

The officials of Karkar region, the officers of the security branches led by the commander of the police department of Karkar region, Abdirisaq Farah Warsame, were present at the meeting.

The Governor of Karkar Region of Puntland, Abdi Saeed Osman, explained to the media the security decisions they made at the meeting held in Qardho.

The city of Qardho, which was recently flooded due to the heavy rains, is one of the most secure cities in Puntland, although sometimes the peace is disrupted by militias who trade in illegal drugs.This will undermine the  peace in the area.
