Somalia: NISA Chief Sanbaloolshe Calls for Renewed tough Operations Against ‘AS’

The Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) of the federal government of Somalia Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, has urged the youth in the Hiiraan region to reorganize and resume efforts to eradicate ‘AS’ fighters from the area.

Addressing the youth, Sanbaloolshe shared the commitments made between traditional elders and some regional politicians, emphasizing the importance of maintaining security and vigilance.

He encouraged the youth to collaborate closely with the federal government forces responsible for safeguarding the security of Baladweyne and other areas in the Hiiraan region to maintain stability.

“We must all closely work together for security. Roads need to be reopened, and the fight against ‘AS’ fighters must continue. Recently, the city has been plagued with rumors, and anyone capable of defending the city should not hesitate,” said Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloolshe, NISA Chief.

Security in the Hiiraan region is now under the control of a joint force comprising intelligence and police units. Their initial operation focused on dismantling illegal roadblocks that had been a major source of complaints from local traders and transport operators.

Somalia’s national army, backed by organised local forces known as Macawisley and regional forces have gone on the offensive against the group since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud declared an “all-out war” against the group and liberated several key areas from the group since the tough operations and has started.
