Somalia: Armed group killed a prominent politician in Wadajir district of Mogadishu.

A group armed with pistols killed a man who was one of the candidates for membership of the People’s Assembly in the Somali Parliament in a neighborhood of Wadajir district last night.

The deceased, whose name was Mohamed Hussein Sebriye, popularly known for Guleyste, ran for the Hop #33 seat, which was later won by MP Yusuf Kabale.

Three youths armed with pistols were said to have shot the deceased Guleyste in the upper body while he was in the Tima Ade Department of the Wadajir district, and at that time he came out of the mosque to pray for Isha prayer.

The security forces went to the scene of the killing a few minutes later, and conducted an investigation, while the security forces failed to arrest the perpetrators of the shooting.
