Somalia, together with allied and partner countries, has strongly condemned what it described as an illegal move by Somaliland to open a purported embassy in Jerusalem.
According to a joint statement cited by state media, the parties reaffirmed support for Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while rejecting unilateral actions they said undermine international law.
The statement further emphasized opposition to measures that affect the legal status of occupied Jerusalem and warned against actions viewed as politically provocative.
Officials stated that the position reflects continued support for Somalia’s internationally recognized territorial integrity and adherence to international legal frameworks.
The development comes amid ongoing diplomatic debate surrounding Somaliland’s external engagements and its pursuit of broader international recognition.
