The President of the federal government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an unannounced visit, with the purpose of the trip yet to be disclosed.
Reports indicate that the president is expected to hold meetings with top Emirati officials during his stay.
The Somali presidency has remained tight-lipped regarding the details of the visit, refraining from sharing information about its objectives, duration, or other specifics.
This visit comes shortly after the UAE recently abandons Somalia’s debt, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Additionally, both governments have recently signed several agreements, the implementation of which is reportedly underway.
