The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has dismissed reports that Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu is set to close in the coming days, saying airport operations are continuing normally.
In a public notice dated October 5, the Authority said all scheduled flights at Aden Adde International Airport are operating in accordance with their established timetables.
“The Somali Civil Aviation Authority hereby informs the public that operations at Aden Adde International Airport continue without disruption, and all scheduled flights are operating in accordance with their established timetables,” the SCAA said.
The Authority categorically rejected reports alleging that the airport would be closed, describing the claims as unfounded and stressing that they had not been issued by any official source.
The SCAA urged the public to rely exclusively on its official communication channels for accurate and timely information concerning flights and airport operations in Somalia.
The notice was issued amid reports circulating about a possible closure of the country’s main international airport, but the aviation authority did not provide further details on the origin of those reports.
