The Federal Government of Somalia has announced that joint operations between government forces and local Macawiisley militia in Hiiraan region resulted in the killing of several Al-Shabaab fighters.
According to official reports, the operation specifically targeted the areas of Beerayabaal and Aboorey, which fall under Buulo Burte district in Hiiraan, Hirshabelle State. The clashes led to casualties on both sides.
The Somali government has released images of the deceased Al-Shabaab members killed in the fighting and confirmed that security forces had seized weapons used by the militants.
Security operations against Al-Shabaab are ongoing in Hiiraan, with efforts intensifying daily. In response to the persistent threat, the Somali government has deployed additional troops to the region to strengthen counterterrorism efforts.
