Somali Government Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh

Mogadishu – The Somali government has issued a strong condemnation of the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Chief of the Hamas Political Bureau, following a violent attack in Tehran. In a brief statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the killing as “heinous” and a clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles.

The Somali government expressed its heartfelt condolences to the Palestinian people and reaffirmed its solidarity with them during this challenging time. The statement emphasized that the attack undermines international norms and humanitarian values, and it called for adherence to these principles in resolving conflicts and addressing grievances.

The assassination has sparked international concern, and the Somali government’s response joins global calls to commitment to upholding global legal standards and supporting the Palestinian cause.
