The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) delivered much-needed food aid to the Somali Police Orphanage Care Centre on Saturday , in a gesture aimed at supporting children who have lost their parents in the line of national defense.
The aid was officially handed over to Commander Sadiya Yusuf, who oversees the care center, which serves as a haven for children whose parents died while serving in the Somali Police Force.
Speaking at the event, Commander Sadiya Yusuf expressed her gratitude to SoDMA for their timely support, noting that the assistance will greatly benefit the children under the center’s care. “This aid ensures that the sacrifices of those who defended our nation are not forgotten. Their children remain our responsibility, and today’s support reinforces that commitment,” she said.
The food aid initiative aligns with SoDMA’s broader mission of providing humanitarian support to vulnerable groups across Somalia. By collaborating with national institutions like the Somali Police Force, SoDMA aims to address critical needs and promote social welfare.
SoDMA said that it’s a symbol of solidarity and respect for the sacrifices made by members of the police force.
The Somali Police Orphanage Care Centre plays a vital role in providing shelter, education, and emotional support to the children of fallen officers, ensuring they have opportunities for a brighter future despite their loss.
