The official State House website was allegedly hacked, with the homepage defaced and replaced by messages targeting President William Ruto.
The hackers are demanding a ransom in Bitcoin equivalent to approximately Ksh.41 million.
The website, president.go.ke, showed that its official content had been replaced with demeaning messages directed at the Head of State.
This is not the first time hackers have targeted government websites and breached official information portals.
State House is yet to issue a formal statement regarding the alleged cyberattack.
