President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Lauds Turkish “unconditional Support” for Somalia’s Recovery and Stability

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has expressed profound appreciation for the Turkish government’s unwavering support to Somalia. He praised Turkey for its non-interested assistance, highlighting it as the only country providing visible and unconditional support to Somalia.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the graduation for the 6th batch of Somali Armed Forces officers trained at the Turksom School, President Mohamud commended Turkey’s unique approach to aid. “A lot of aid has a lot of strings behind it and is always pulled to one side, but the one in Turkey is still with it; there is honor and dignity with it,” he stated. “There is no special chain or special interest that our diplomacy and our government is being manipulated or guided by.”

The President emphasized that the weaponry recently presented at the First Pearl Memorial is part of Turkey’s ongoing support, demonstrating the tangible benefits of this partnership. The collaboration between Somalia and Turkey in military training and support has significantly contributed to Somalia’s recovery and stability.

Turkey’s efforts in training Somali officers have equipped them with essential skills and knowledge, strengthening Somalia’s security forces and enhancing their capacity to combat threats. This cooperation has had a profound impact, not only fostering bilateral relations but also promoting regional peace and stability by addressing common challenges.

The graduation of the 6th batch of officers marks another milestone in the Somalia-Turkey partnership. President Mohamud acknowledged the critical role Turkey has played in Somalia’s journey towards stability. He noted that this support has been instrumental in rebuilding the nation’s security infrastructure, enabling Somali forces to better protect their country and citizens.

Turkey’s commitment to Somalia extends beyond military aid, encompassing various areas of development and humanitarian assistance. This holistic approach underscores Turkey’s dedication to supporting Somalia’s long-term growth and stability without any hidden agendas., he emphasized.
