Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received a delegation of traditional leaders from northern Somalia at Villa Somalia, as they continue a series of visits to the capital.
The delegation included Boqor Ibrahim Boqor Ali Hussein, Sultan Mohamud Ahmed and Sultan Omar Osman Goodir.
Discussions focused on “strengthening national unity, social cohesion and the role of traditional leadership in promoting understanding among Somali communities”
President Hassan Sheikh urged the traditional leaders to strengthen their contribution to peacebuilding, reconciliation and efforts to unite the Somali people.
The meeting comes amid continued efforts by the Federal Government to engage traditional leaders and other community figures in promoting reconciliation and national cohesion.
