The Minister of Education of the federal government of Somalia, Abdullahi Abukar Haji (Abdullahi Arab), has opened an education review Conference in Kismayo, the capital of the Jubbaland State.
The conference which opened in Kismayo on Sunday discussed the development of education, in particular the formation of two important education committees, being the National Examinations Commission and the National Curriculum Management and Development Committee.
The conference follows a recent meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Ministries of Education of the State Governments in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, on July 12, 2021, at which important decisions were made in regards to formulating uniform policies towards an elaborate education curriculum .
The third phase of the conference will be hosted by the Gamudug State and will focus on the future of education in Somalia.
The conference was attended by federal member State Ministers of Education, the Director General of the Ministry of Education of the Federal government of Somalia and the Directors General of the Ministries of Education of the State Governments.
