Local sources have reported that the explosion, suspected to have been caused by a landmine, took place near a restaurant in the Jamhuuriya neighborhood.

Following the incident, emergency response teams promptly arrived at the scene to transport the injured to medical facilities. Somali security forces, including members of the police, intelligence, and specialized paramilitary units, arrived shortly afterward to secure the area and initiate an investigation.
