Jubaland launches offensive against Al-Shabaab in Jamaame District

A conflict is ongoing between the Jubaland Regional Government’s Defense Forces and Al-Shabaab fighters in the outskirts of Jamaame District in the southern Lower Juba region.

The fighting reportedly erupted after Jubaland forces launched a strong offensive against Al-Shabaab key positions.

Heavy casualties have been reported on both sides, although exact numbers are uncertain.

There are also reports of airstrikes being conducted in collaboration with Danab Special Forces and U.S. military support.

In recent days, the Jubaland Regional Government has been preparing its troops to launch assaults on Al-Shabaab bases in Lower Juba, specifically targeting areas around Jamaame, where Al-Shabaab has been organizing attacks against government forces.
