Jubaland: Emergency Aid To Be Dispatched to Alleviate Crisis in Gedo Region

In a response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gedo Region, the Jubbaland Regional Government has officially initiated emergency aid operations. The region, grappling with multiple challenges, including flooding from autumn rains and the overflow of the Jubba and Dawa rivers, has prompted urgent interventions to safeguard the affected population.

Residents in various districts of Gedo find themselves stranded on the opposite side of water bodies due to the deluge, necessitating immediate evacuation. Sources close to the situation confirm that families are in dire need of fundamental necessities such as food, clean water, and shelter to endure the harsh conditions of both scorching days and chilly nights.

Mohamud Sayid Adan, the Vice President of the Jubbaland Regional Government, has assured the public that emergency aid is en route to address the pressing issues. Lack of food leading to hunger is a primary concern, and Adan emphasizes that measures are being taken to prevent further hardships.

“Within the next few hours, emergency aid will reach these districts,” stated Adan, highlighting the commitment of the Jubbaland Regional Government.
