The Jubbaland regional administration has deployed additional forces to the front lines of the fighting in Lower Jubba.
The troops were advised by military officials and the Minister of Internal Security of Jubaland, Major General Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhuumaal.
These forces are intended to reinforce the operations in Lower Jubba, where a combined contingent made up of Jubaland’s regional forces and the Danab special forces are conducting efforts to counter Al-Shabab fighters in the region.
Jubaland also announced that it aims to take control of areas in Lower Jubba that are currently outside its hands.
The stated goal is said to enable the next phase of operations in Middle Jubba, where the group Al-Shabab fighters is said to have a major presence.
As tough operations against Al-Shabab and ISIS continue across the country authorities and local residents remain alert and hopeful for a swift resolution to the persistent threat posed by Al-Shabaab.
